Black Jack has an exceptional history at JO Bulls and has proven to be
an outstanding influence in our herd.
Quoting from the JO Bulls site:
'Black Jack is the real deal. He is homozygous black and homozygous polled
and is a purebred (87.5%).
His dam is awesome and comes from one of our best cow families.
We have never used a bull as heavily as we are using Black Jack.

Our first Black Hereford Bull was D15 - a son of JO Bull Classic Smith 2008.
D15 is an Approved Herd Sire in ABHA - AM free, NH free, IE free, DD free, MSUD free and is HOMOBLACK.
We were most fortunate to obtain a bull with his background and with such promise locally. We used D15 extensively after we purchased him
from Triple C in 2017. He produced very eye-pleasing calves with plenty of 'Black' color.
Note: we sold D15 to Peter Wiggett-Call Me Back Farm and hated to see him go.
D15 made quite an improvement in our cow herd.
Current daughters of D15
(grand daughters of
JO Bull Classic Smith 2008)
in the herd are:
HB014910, HB014911, HB016589.
There are also D15 Grand daughters
HB019733 (sired AI by JO Black Jack 4217),
HB023090 (sired AI by JO Dark Vadar 7B ET) and
NX027939 (sired by JO Captain Jack Sparrow 1L ET).

We obtained semen from Atomic in 2021.
Quoting from the JO Bulls site: We feel that Jo Atomic 8008 might be the best all around bull in the Nation. We are using him heavily, but are going to release a limited amount of semen on him in 2020. There are not many bulls with his power and thickness with calving ease. He is out of one of our favorite donor cows and is a 1/2 brother to
our herd sire Boom.
Atomic is an Approved Herd Sire in ABHA
AM, DD, IE, NH, and MSUD Free.
HOMOBLACK.
Our first calf from JK D15 Classic Ms 1704-1901T
arrived September 21, 2022 and is a very special bull calf
JK Atomic Classic 1901-2208.
We Plan to use 2208 for limited duty in 2024
to Black Jack daughters.
The second son is from JK A139 Baldy 0902-1706 and resembles Bullseye. He likely will be our next on-site herd sire.

One can find a lot of detail about history of the Black Hereford Cattle on their site.
They were also the breeder for
HB009182 JN BULLSEYE JO D411
the sire of Atomic.
Quoting from the JO Bulls site: 'Vadar has the growth of his sire Lightning with the maternal power of Black Jack’s dam. He weaned off at 820 lbs., and had a yearling weight of 1,255 lbs. This half brother to Black Jack is thick everywhere. He will add pigment, growth, and maternal power. AM, DD, IE, NH, and MSUD Free HOMOPOLLED and HOMOBLACK!'
